And there was also love. Marek Edelman, activist, doctor and former commander of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, is interviewed by director Jolanta Dylewska about an aspect of life in the ghetto that is rarely discussed: love. Edelman shares stories from his memoir And There Was Love in the Ghetto and reflects on the redemptive nature of passion, romance and lust in one of history’s darkest hours. Filmmaker Agnieszka Holland lends her screenwriting talents to the sensual recreations directed by another legendary filmmaker, Andrzej Wajda. A captivating look into the lives of men and women who still hope, dream and hold on to each other as the world burns around them.
