With just his gestures and facial expressions, mime artist Marcel Marceau captivated audiences around the world for decades. However, the tragic background of his work has for a long time remained hidden. The Art of Silence sheds new light on his life and his unique art form, which his family and colleagues have kept alive to this day. The father of Swiss filmmaker Maurizius Staerkle Drux (Concrete Love – The Böhm Family) was deaf. With The Art of Silence he reflects on parts of his own history and on the turbulent life of a world-famous mime artist.
